Mara is a Research Scientist in Accelerated Discovery at IBM Research Europe - Zürich. Her research interests are on multimodal generative models for real-world data. Her background is that of an Information and Communication Technology Engineer, and she holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Geneva and a M.Phil. in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge (UK). Her research work on the reliability and interpretability of deep learning models in high-risk applications was awarded the Latsis University Prize in 2023.
