Thin Solid Films
Individual carbon nanotubes on a patterned substrates is manipulated using the tip of an atomic force microscope. Model nanodevices are fabricated, including a room temperature field-effect transistor with a channel only 1.6 nm wide, as well as single-electron transistors. A technique to produced rings of single-wall nanotubes with a very high yield is developed.
