Effect of surface roughness on the critical velocities of superfluid He4

The influence of surface roughness on the dynamics of a quantized-vortex tangle has been studied by numerical simulation. A considerable improvement in the predicted critical velocity behavior is obtained. © 1992 The American Physical Society.
