Jim Garrison is a developer and physicist at IBM, focused on advancing quantum-centric supercomputing. Before joining IBM, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and a research faculty member at the University of Maryland. He earned his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied theoretical condensed matter physics under the guidance of Prof. Matthew P. A. Fisher.
