Several superconducting compounds have been found in the CuAl2 (C16) crystal class, indicating that this structure is among those favorable to the occurrence of superconductivity. The compounds were: AuPb2 (Tc = 4.42°K), PdPb2 (Tc = 2.95°K), RhPb2 (Tc = 2.66°K) and Agln2 (Tc = 2.30-;2.46°K). In addition, two compounds related to the C16 class were found to be superconducting: AuSn4 (Tc = 2.38°K) and PtPb4 (Tc = 2.80°K). © 1962.
