Picosecond dye laser pulses using nitrogen laser pumping

The nitrogen laser has been used to obtain partial mode locking of rhodamine 6G. The resulting pulses are tunable over ∼ 200 Å with a pulse full width at half-power of ∼ 150 psec. The maximum modulation depth obtained is ∼ 80%. © 1971 The American Institute of Physics.
