The use of pervasive computing technology in enhancing sports performance is discussed. Pervasive computing researchers are studying three areas of sports technologies including athletic performance, leisure and entertainment, and the effect of technology on the rules of the game. The authors are developing data visualization software that presents measured sensor data alongside the reference video by working with trainers and former World Cup coaches. It is hoped that technology will make sports more entertaining for players and encourage the general public to exercise more.
