Online problems in timetabling: Bus priority at signalised junctions

We argue for the study of on-line problems in timetabling and give some novel examples thereof. The problem of prioritising delayed buses at signalised junctions underlies a timetabling competition held in conjunction with the International Conference on the Practice and Theory of Automated Timetabling.
