On the piecewise structure of discrete box splines

Abstract

In this note we give an explicit example where the discrete box spline is shown to have a non-polynomial piecewise structure. We briefly point out how the example relates to some general results which are useful in describing the correct piecewise nature of such splines. © 1986.
