In this paper we introduce an efficient method for NMR chemical shift imaging which is especially well suited for imaging proton chemical shifts. With realistic observation times and pulse sequences, one is operating close to the theoretical limits of this method. We give estimates showing the range of parameters for which this imaging process is successful. © 1985 Optical Society of America.
