The gate characteristics of Josephson junctions is described as a function of its separation from a superconducting groundplane, of its length over Josephson penetration depth, and other geometrical parameters. The geometrical dependence is estimated with simple, slide-rule formulas. An equivalent circuit is derived to compute static and dynamic properties of miniaturized junctions for computer circuitry. © 1975.
