INTRODUCTION TO THE RESEARCH QUEUING PACKAGE.

The research queuing package (RESQ) is a general-purpose modeling tool for constructing and solving extended queuing network models of computer systems, communication networks, automated manufacturing systems, and other types of contention systems. The author gives an introduction to RESQ is given and the basic model elements, submodels, statistical output analysis and graphic results, are described. RESQ was designed to facilitate the accurate representation of systems with extended queuing network model elements.
