For nonmagnetic disordered metals Nagel and Tauc have proposed an electronic influence on stability due to an electron-mediated indirect interaction between the ions. This interaction causes a structure-induced minimum in the electronic density of states and electronic-induced structure properties. In the present paper we show indications for another influence, electron-mediated as well, due to indirect magnetic interaction between local moments. Interrelations between electronic and structural properties and their influence on stability and magnetic properties are shown for FexX1-x metallic glasses (X: Sn, Ge, Sb). © 1990.
