IBM's PIQUANT II in TREC2005

In this paper, we described our PIQUANT II system as configured in the TREC 2005 QA runs. Our efforts this year focused on algorithmic improvements of individual answering agents as well as development of new agents employing different question answering strategies. Our resulting system ranked 3 rd out of 30 participating systems in the TREC QA main task.
