A brief summary of electric field effects on the normal and the superconducting state of high-Tc superconductors is given. Novel experiments are presented in which electric fields are used to modulate the transport properties of weak links. Analogies between the effects of electric and magnetic fields on superconductivity are emphasized. © 1993.
