Dynamic Address Assignment in Broadcast Networks

In this paper we consider the problem of dynamically assigning addresses to stations attached to a broadcast network. We present a distributed protocol which guarantees that a new station will eventually be assigned an address if one is free, and furthermore, that no two stations on the network will have the same address.
