Determination of third-order dispersion coefficient and observation of soliton radiation in si-wire waveguides

Utilizing strong nonlinearity and dispersion engineering in silicon-wire waveguides, we observe development of soliton radiation at high power and ultrashort pulses. With this observation, we investigate a novel way to determine the third-order dispersion coefficient. © 2007 Optical Society of America.
