Constructions of skew-tolerant and skew-detecting codes

A coding solution to the problem of parallel asynchronous communications was presented by T. Verhoeff (1988). Necessary and sufficient conditions for codes that can either detect or correct a certain amount of skew were given elsewhere by authors Blaum and Bruck (1991). In this paper, the authors present constructions of codes that can detect or tolerate skew below a certain threshold.
