Circular discs containing eigenvalues of normal matrices

We give an inclusion theorem for the eigenvalues of a normal matrix using discs similar to the Gerschgorin discs. This theorem is used to obtain bounds on the eigenvalues of Jordan products, and a variant of Kantorovich's inequality for normal matrices. © 1989.
