Characterization of the magnetic phase transition in cubic -MnS

The magnetic phase transition in the cubic form of -MnS has been found to be first order. This result is discussed in relation to proposed magnetic structures as well as to theoretical considerations based on symmetry and on renormalization-group calculations. © 1981 The American Physical Society.
