Abstract: Novel multicritical points of “weak metamagnets”

Results of molecular-field calculations of phase diagrams, of uniaxial, and biaxial antiferromagnets with intermediate anisotropy are reported which exhibit novel multicritical points combining features of both bi- and tri-critical points. The limiting strength of anisotropy for having bi- or tri-critical behavior is found to depend strongly on the direction of applied field. (AIP). © 1979, American Institute of Physics.
