A quarter century of performance evaluation--Impact on science and engineering

Performance evaluation has matured. It is an accepted discipline at universities, and industrial research laboratories maintain substantial groups of specialists. What has been accomplished? The author tries to answer this question by looking at three areas: contribution to science, contribution to engineering, and performance evaluation as business and in industry.
