Bio

SHIZU Takahashi is the Director of Technology Engagement and Research & Development at IBM, as well as Head of the IBM Kyoto Research Park Office, which focuses on semiconductor research and development and manufacturing execution systems. She also leads Business and Operations Excellence for IBM Semiconductor Japan. In these roles, she oversees strategic alliances and the operations of the IBM Research Think Lab Tokyo, facilitating interactions among clients, students, and employees centered on advanced IBM technologies—including AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors—through immersive experiences and high-impact events. With over twenty years of experience in IBM Systems marketing and as a systems engineer, SHIZU brings significant expertise to IBM Research operations and technology engagement. She serves as an advisor to IBM Community Japan and mentors students through the Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH) program. Additionally, she is an advisor to the Japan Women’s Innovative Network (J-Win), a nonprofit dedicated to advancing workplace diversity and inclusion.
