Title

Research Scientist
Kentaro Hoshisashi

Bio

Kentaro Hoshisashi joined IBM Research - Tokyo in October 2026 as a Research Scientist in IBM Quantum. His research centres on quantum algorithms for partial differential equations and on the algorithmic foundations of quantum-centric supercomputing, alongside high-performance computing and numerical methods for PDEs. His current work addresses PDE-constrained design and calibration on quantum-centric supercomputing platforms.

He received his PhD in Computer Science from University College London in 2025, with research on physics-informed neural networks for derivative pricing and calibration under partial differential equation constraints. He also holds an MSc from the University of Tokyo (2013) and a BSc from Tokyo Institute of Technology, now Institute of Science Tokyo (2010).

Before joining IBM, he was an exotic derivatives library quant at SMBC Bank International in London.
