Jason Silbergleit is the Vice President for IBM Research Business Development and Government Programs, leading a global team dedicated to the commercialization and strategic deployment of IBM’s most advanced technologies. In his expanded role, Jason acts as the bridge between IBM’s research labs and strategic partners. He directs the global business development organization for semiconductors, encompassing fab process technology, leading AI accelerators, and advanced packaging, driving the adoption of cutting-edge hardware innovation. He also drives AI and Hybrid Cloud ecosystems to advance the adoption of semiconductor technology. . Additionally, Jason has primary responsibility for Research Government Programs across the semiconductor, AI, and Quantum domains, aligning IBM Research innovation with national and global strategic initiatives.
Jason's scope covers the contributions of more than 3,000 researchers across the global IBM Research organization, contributing substantially to IBM’s organic growth across key areas like Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, Hybrid Cloud, and Quantum. He has personally structured several high-profile strategic initiatives, including the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab and the IBM-Cleveland Clinic Discovery Accelerator.
Having joined IBM in the Microelectronics Division in 1996, Jason spent his early career in various engineering leadership roles and before transitioning to his current focus areas within Intellectual Property and Research where he has held several leadership roles.
Jason holds a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and an M.B.A from the University of Vermont. Outside of his core role, Jason serves as an executive sponsor for the Neurodiversity@IBM Program.
