Bio

Adriane Mullins is the Strategy & Operations Manager for the IBM Research COO. She is also the Senior Location Executive (SLE) of the IBM Research Cambridge Lab, which is home to the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. In her role as a Strategy & Operations Manager, Adriane has been responsible for both the Research Catalysts and the Exploratory Science horizontal functional operations that include Research strategic alignment and reporting, continual improvement for audit readiness, and improvement and integration of Research processes and operations. Adriane is responsible for leading, advising, and executing on strategic and operational decisions and policy that are important to ensuring that the operational structure is in place to support the IBM Research organization. Adriane's responsibilities include collaborating across the organization to meet strategic and operational objectives, directing and implementing projects and transformation activities to achieve outcomes and benefits of importance to IBM Research. Adriane interfaces with global teams to drive process improvement and collaboration with leaders of the various Research Pillars, Horizontals, and Platforms as well as IBM Research finance and operations and HR teams to ensure unhindered execution of top priorities.

Prior to joining IBM Research, Adriane was managing Public Sector contracts in IBM Consulting. Adriane spent 14 years working with public sector clients at both IBM Consulting and Deloitte Consulting, developing executive and strategic communications, performing stakeholder management, and managing agile projects. As a PMP certified Project Manager Adriane has extensive experience leading many multi-million-dollar projects simultaneously, including both on-site client delivery as well as cost, schedule, scope, forecasting, and staffing.

Adriane has an MPP from George Mason University and a BS from James Madison University.
